I followed you just because you did not post your Digg URL. LOL

But seriously, Twitter is social bookmarking just like I have always described Digg and any bookmarking site.

Google determines the vote by how many links the original content has, from the social source. NoFollow is dead, it means nothing in social circles these days. It is no longer about how many Diggs or votes you get, but who does the voting...

Same here. Come to think of it, I've only ever used SMS to announce that I'll be late for racquetball. But there is a whole other generation that uses SMS more than speech. Not a bad idea to tap into that market. Twitter is no dummy.

@tom4cam You know, the funny thing is... I don't think I've ever tweeted via SMS. I always use an app on my phone. I wonder, though, what the ratio of tweets is among web / phone app / SMS.

Note: Kids, get your parent's permission -- and preferably an unlimited text message plan -- before trying this at home. :-)

The fact that Twitter can be delivered via text message means it reaches far beyond the Net. It becomes a way to tweet and follow tweeple from millions of regular cell phones via SMS, essentially converting them into a social networking devices. That's the power of Twitter.

I totally agree with this post. I've actually been digging a lot less since Twitter came on the scene about two years ago. And now Twitter has experienced a growth that Digg still hasn't. Obviously Digg has grown, but I feel like it never shed its geeky origins and community. Twitter, as you noted, was on Oprah.
